Information about the history of Marbury Hall and surrounding Parkland is frequently requested by visitors. The Friends of Anderton and Marbury (FoAM) has undertaken a project to update and replace an Information Panel about Marbury Hall. This will be mounted on the stone pillars at the site of the Hall, where a Panel used to exist. Space on the new Interpretation Panel is limited, so we have made more of the collected material accessible here.
Research has been carried out by Frances Findlay, Chris Moseley, Nathan Rathbone and Alan Redley, with help from local historian Geoff Buchan (who kindly agreed to us using material from his book ‘BELMONT The House That Jack Built, 1996)’.
FoAM member Clive Brookes is researching Marbury during the Second World War and some of his research has been included in Section 5, Second World War Years. Also, letters and articles in the Northwich Guardian have resulted in new information coming to light from its readers.
This History of Marbury Hall and its surrounding Parkland has been compiled by Frances Findlay and Alan Redley. Our thanks go to all those who have supplied information or helped in other ways. The website will be updated as new information becomes available.
